The 16 Days of Activism against violence against women and girls is an international campaign that takes place each year. It commences on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, until 10 December, Human Rights Day. It was originated by activists at the first Women's Global Leadership Institute in 1991 and this year marks its 30th anniversary.

How can you get involved in this campaign?
There are several ways to get involved in the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Here are some suggestions:
Watch a movie, video, or documentary related to gender-based violence.
Attend an event in your community to show your support for the victims of GBV.
Consider donating to a shelter near you if you can.
Research organizations, service providers, and grassroots activists leading the fight against GBV local to you and find out what volunteering opportunities are available.
